Sameer Mithal
Mr. Mithal is a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience in the telecommunications, technology and media industries. He has expertise in P&L management, operations, strategy and business development along with experience working in Asia, Europe, Latin America and across the continent of Africa. Currently, along with Samantha Ory, he is co-founder of Alternative Asset & Private Equity firm Skyfall Assets, which focuses on Consumer, technology, manufacturing and distribution investment opportunities
Over the past decade, Mr. Mithal’s primary focus has been in evaluating new technologies, incubating small/startup companies and scaling businesses. Most recently, he spent five years as Executive-in-Residence with Deloitte’s US Innovation team in New York helping the firm to identify new “white space” opportunities, evaluating cutting-edge technology companies (e.g., in the geospatial data, computer vision and climate change industries), and developing multi-year implementation plans.
Prior to that, Mr. Mithal worked for almost a decade developing water treatment facilities in Africa and Asia implementing new IoT and data-driven systems to manage and maintain a network of over 500 plants.
Mr. Mithal started his career as a software engineer developing applications for the manufacturing industry and subsequently, post his MBA studies, spent a decade working with companies in the telecommunications industry in strategy and operations roles. He was also the founder of ASA Networks, a Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) in upstate New York which deployed both WiFi and White Space technologies to provide internet services in underserved areas.
Mr. Mithal has earned an MBA from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, an MS in Computer Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a B. Eng in Electronic Engineering from the Curtin University of Technology in Australia. His passions include playing competitive tennis, travel and non-fiction literature.
